FALL 25 - LUCIFUGOUS VENUS

lu·cif·u·gous. lü si fy əgəs. variants or less commonly lucifugal. -gəl. : avoiding light. Ve·nus : The morning(or evening) star, usually the first star to rise and fall, the star which tries to light the morning, the last to disapper, the brightest object in the sky after the moon.

In the dim glow before dawn, when the last song still lingers in the bones and the city is caught between dream and reality, Sofia Christof unveils Lucifugous Venus—a collection that embodies the quiet melancholy and electric beauty of the night’s final moments.

For Fall 2025, Christof crafts a narrative suspended between darkness and light. Lucifugous Venus—a title as poetic as it is evocative—draws from the celestial dance of Venus, the last star to fade into morning’s embrace. It is a collection born in the early hours, when euphoria and emptiness intertwine. The collection mirrors this ephemeral beauty. Fluid silhouettes echo the weightless drift of a night not yet over, while sculpted tailoring captures the sharp contrast between shadow and dawn. Rich textures and deep, inky hues—obsidian, midnight navy, and celestial silver—play against diaphanous fabrics that catch the light like distant stars. It’s a vision both intoxicating and introspective, a tribute to the women who revel in the in-between.
